Today we have the blessing of a guest post, which was offered to share some tips to better organize children’s spaces.  I hope these ideas are great tips to support your continued efforts at home!

5 Tips to Organize Children’s Spaces

It is sometimes more of a challenge to organize children’s spaces, especially if you are preoccupied with other important household duties.  Kids are traditionally believed to make a lot of mess around the house, especially when they are younger.

The chaos in their rooms is the most common view and the worst thing is that they rarely demonstrate willingness to arrange the things in an appropriate way.

Parents, on the other hand, constantly try to teach them how to put an order in their rooms and how to maintain a nice and clean home environment.

5 Tips for Organized Children's Spaces

If you really want to ensure a well organized and put together children’s space, take a look at the following tips.  They can help you to use kids’ spaces in an excellent manner and make it comfortable both for you and your child(ren).  The most important thing is to enjoy a cozy and suitable space for the kids.  Then, they can feel relaxed and undisturbed as they go about their day.

Labeling

If you want to really organize and arrange the space, the first step is to use labels.  With the help of a computer printer you can make labels that illustrate certain items.  For instance, these could be some clothes, toys or other items.  This is a good tactic to attract the attention of the children and to remind them that each object has its own place.  You can put the labels in the drawers, on the shelves or at any place this is visible enough.

Put the Child’s Needs at First Place

When organizing the children’s space, first make sure that the changes will fit the needs of the child.  For example you cannot situate furniture for adults, simply because you can place all of the child’s clothes there.  You need to adapt the children’ furniture if you really want to make them functional and easy for use.  For example, you can remove all the closet doors and you can put hangers that are specially made for children.  As far as the containers for toys are concerned, you can pick up floor-level ones that will be easy to reach.

Consider Loft Beds

If you really want to save up a space in the kids’ room you had better consider the idea of installing loft beds.  This will allow the children to have more free space for their games and for the bureau and the computer.

Wonderful Door Pockets

To make the most of the kids’ space why not creating wonderful door pockets?  Here you can situate tiny accessories and toys and you can even store the kids’ paintings and materials.

Work to Clean On Spaces on a Regular Basis

While thinking of the best solutions for organized kids’ space, do not forget to teach children how to clean on a regular basis.  It is not necessary to explain to them in detail how to provide cleaning from top to bottom.  At first, you can show them how to remove the dust and how to use a vacuum cleaner.  Explain to them that they are also part of the room maintenance, as this is their own place.  They need to take care of it, too.

And Any Other Solutions You Find

These are some of the valuable tips that will help you to make the children’s space more organized and arranged in an easy way.  Spread your imagination and think of innovative changes that could be made in your home.  Keep in mind the preferences of the kids and try to place the furniture and the other items, in a way that the child would feel most comfortable.

Yes! We use the plastic hanging shoe racks and have them filled with tons of other things. They are wonderful organizational tools for small or multi-piece items =0)
