It seems like corruption has become a way of life now. It basically explains the vast majority of the ridiculousness we see in our country and around the world. What a tangled mess we are all in.
When I was working on my graduate studies I took a class in communication theory that blew my mind.
Communication has always naturally been a fascination and interest of mine, and I suppose it runs in the blood somehow, since my father too was a communications professor…but I digress.
Today my analytical side is constantly swirling watching the chaos of places like Facebook and news sites explode with an onslaught of emotions. Ironically, these are those basically spun into existence by the powers that be.
Now, we just need to get smart enough to wake up and unplug from the influence of the corruption. Let’s begin.
Are We Influenced by Corruption?
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” ~ Ephesians 5: 11
There are many, many theories which I thought had a lot of partial truths, but if applied on a mass scale would cause confusion or corruption.
There was one, however, that truly caught my interest and it was this one that I decided to focus on for my research paper: Corporate Colonization Theory.
Now, there are many different interpretations of how society, culture, media, groups, relationships, etc. all work and function, but in my opinion, this single theory and its implications within humanity cover the influence of every one of those other spectrum.
In fact, I believe that it is the idea behind this theory that can give the actionable path of evil for millenia. And, it seems to be in proper working order still to this day.
The basic premise behind the theory is that corporate interests dominate over those of the individual. Honestly, it is not very difficult to see the truth behind this theory in today’s interconnected world, probably now more than ever.
But, it seems that people are beginning to wake up to this fact and stop letting themselves be pushed around by a broken system of twisted philosophy and antagonistic theology.
Corporate interests take precedence…period
Everything is owned by corporations nowadays.
Even though our country once upheld our anti-trust laws, we now have the monopolization of food, medicine, power, water, transportation, education, etc. all in the hands of conglomerate businesses too massive and financially armed to even comprehend.
It is a sad and disheartening reality to our present age. Corruption is just the way things get done anymore.
But, this reality is not what concerns me most. What truly concerns me is that many, many people continue to be deceived by the facade of corporate interests.
Media in any form, the structure of our present economic system, etc. are all teaching us one thing or another about how we should see the world. This is called a “worldview” and there are many different baselines for it.
Through the influence of mass media communications whole systems of thinking can be taught to a passive audience without even a second thought, unless the viewer is keen to take note.
This is truly a wake-up call reality to any one of us, since it is a first in all of history for such an easy way to manipulate and drive the emotions and actions of an incredible number of people with the spin of a story.
Where corruption is present, morals and ethics are not found.
Corporate interests now reach much farther than simply within the walls of any business, and have now become society as a whole.
Basically, we are under a form of mind control
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” ~ Ephesians 6: 11-12
Television, most social media, screen devices, educational materials, video games, movies, television shows, etc. each have such significant influence on our thinking if we are not careful to remain poised for analysis in light of scripture.
Each of these methods of communication strategically choose what “reality” to present to us, the viewers.
Is the news story going to encourage fear, or joy? Is this television show going to support government, or promote upheaval?
Are the parents and the children going to have fight and argue, or be supportive and loving? Is the couple going to fight and argue over problems and get divorced, or are they going to have respectful dialogue and compromise to promote unity and commitment to marriage?
All of these are strategic choices made by the corporations that put together the materials.
And, what we put before our eyes goes into our minds in ways that we do not understand. This is the true MIND CONTROL.
Monkey See, Monkey Do
If we constantly see marriages ending in divorce because of arguments over differences, and do not see compromise and respectful communication to work out an issue, we will learn how to run from differences and only look for people who do everything the same way we do.
If children are constantly seeing disrespectful speech towards adults (which is what the vast majority of today’s tween and teenager-friendly programs promote…if they even include parents in the show), they will naturally behave that way when disagreements with parents arise.
If fear-mongering and lies are constantly spun regarding health, vaccines, and our basic rights to choose what goes in our bodies, then the parental right to make basic, informed decisions become the battlefield of attack and aggressive control.
If women are constantly watching shows or movies that promote romantic relationships and emotions as the foundation for a relationship, at the first sign of emotional upset, they will be inclined to run and find someone else who will satisfy an emotional need.
If men are constantly taught that women are either 1) simply some object to chase after and attain sexually, or 2) of little to no importance because of female contentious behaviors, they will not naturally be inclined to love in a Christ-honoring way.
All of these things matter.
All of these are the real manifestations of “mind control.”
And all of these manipulations of human behavior have far-reaching consequences and generational influence.

What Can We Do? Wake up and FIGHT BACK!
Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness.Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” ~ Joshua 24: 14-15
Thankfully, though, the simplest path to freedom from corruption is almost so easy it’s hard:
Return to the real world, and manage the influence of the devices.
Corruption breeds serious confusion and a tangled web of lies.
Be careful not to simply turn on the television because you are bored at the end of the day. If you do, be well aware that there are many, many messages coming into your mind that you are now responsible for navigating.
Get Connected to REAL People
Get into the Word to receive a biblical worldview, especially when it comes to interpersonal relationships and Godly communication with others.
If no other reason exists to turn off the devices, it is interpersonal relationships. Devices do not do anything to promote how to properly interact with others face-to-face.
Join others who too are reading and studying the Bible daily for encouragement and motivation.
A Crash Course in Critical Thinking
If you do use technology of any kind, be ready to start asking a LOT of questions.
Who is producing this video? What is the goal they are aiming to achieve? Does it line up with scripture? Is there any eternal value to this program?
Is this show teaching ungodly behaviors and sinful ways? Is this scientific study based on Truth? Is the corporation that conducted the study able to gain anything by its adherence?
Is there a profit-driven motive to promoting a particular way of seeing the world?
In other words, is there a reason to believe that there is a corruption of the truth presented in this material due to profits, personal gains, biases, or any other conflict of interest by those who created it?
If so, tread carefully.
A Few Recommendations for getting “Unplugged”
So, will you join me in returning to the natural world? Are you tired of the lies, chaos, confusion and want off the fast-moving train to nowhere?
Open books, engage in face-to-face communication, serve others, love others, simplify your life, go outside and enjoy God’s amazing Creation.
Pray for others and your family members. Seek His Word for Truth every day and ask for wisdom in navigating this world.
Choose to embrace the blessings of real life, and give thanks to the Lord for His many blessings.
We are not fighting alone
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” ~ Romans 2: 1-2
The most important thing for every true Christian and follower of Yahweh is to check our own life in view of Scripture. If our lives do not resemble those of the believers of times past, who picked up their crosses and bore them in the strength of God, we might be under the influence of today’s “mind control.”
But, our God is an awesome God. He is able to help us navigate the path to freedom from these insidious influences of today. Neither you, nor those you love, are hopeless for finding the path of Truth in Him.
Choose today who you will serve.
