We have done it! We have officially moved into our trailer. Praise the L-rd!
For a week now, we have been moved into our 33′ camper trailer, pictured above…RV living is in the works! We have moved into two different campgrounds, traveling a total of about 250 miles so far, and we have been loving this journey.
Things I hate?
Learning how to pull this thing! I am in our “follow car” behind my husband as he trucks this thing down the highway, and I can tell you, I am probably losing life years from the drives, lol. But, my husband is a quick learner and is figuring things out pretty fast for how to keep the trailer safe and stable while driving.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the L-rd. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.'” ~ Jeremiah 29:11
RV Living: An Update
We have been beyond blessed by the various people we have met thus far in our journey. At the first campground, we experienced an intimacy and sense of community that you just don’t find everywhere.
I was honored to get to know a lovely woman across the “street” (a.k.a. dirt road between our trailers), who is a new Christian. I am so thankful for that meeting for it surely renewed my heart to see that Yahweh is still pinging hearts for Him and drawing people to know Him better.
I have never met such a humble and hungry heart before, and she reminded me so clearly of Jesus’ words:
“I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.” ~ Matthew 18:3
I have never had such clarity for what these words meant until I met this sweet, open, humble, and hungry-to-learn woman. She was eager to sit at the feet of Jesus and hear more about our Heavenly Abba. She absolutely is fulfilling this verse in becoming like a little child, and I was blessed to meet her.
My husband has also been blessed with meeting many different Vets who have experienced much of what we are enduring right now in his difficulty finding employment. We continue to pray that a job for him will open up.
Ups & Downs
As I am sure there are some curious readers, here are some of the unexpected experiences we have had to date:
- Small flood on the bathroom floor that went into the kids’ bedroom space
- Backed-up kitchen sink when one of our grey water tanks was full…but we didn’t know it
- Discovery that pot holes and camper trailers at night do NOT mix well
- Nearly taking out a mail box on a sharp 90-degree turn
- Figuring out that the best way for my hubby to prevent road sway with big rigs is to give him a big heads up when they approach (remember, he has no rear view…I am his eyes as the follow car)
- A jam-packed fridge and freezer with only about a week’s worth of food…this is going to take some getting used to
Many of these have been laughable, some are a bit stressful, and others are downright scary, but I know and trust that the L-rd has it all worked out and is protecting us in this season. Without that centering belief, I have no clue how we could possibly do this!
And, just a few moments captured for your viewing pleasure:

Our tiny dinette with kids’ bunk room in the back

Little Man and Hubby sleeping in our cozy bed…oh, and our dog

Hubby and I watching a movie on the pull-out sofa with Little Man choosing he wasn’t quite ready for bed yet

One of our birthday girls (she just turned 6!)…she’s a goof

Miss 6 year old continues with the silliness…just one nice picture, kid! That’s all I ask! =0)

Second successful dinner!

Little Angel playing blocks in the living room space…she made a train.

The store-bought cake full of not healthy ingredients, but oh so tasty! Happy birthday kids!

Daddy and Little man being silly together. Like father, like son =0)

Big Sister cuddling little man with apparent comfort and cuddle expertise!

The new view during morning Bible Study =0)

Zacky hanging out at the foot of my bed with some dancing kids in the background.

Little Angel…likely singing “Let It Go” as usual

Little Angel dancing with Zack contemplating whether or not he will join her, or push her over….

First family breakfast!

The trailer site across from ours at the first campground. Inviting, no?
A Journey of Faith
This entire move has been a complete faith walk, and continues to be. We have no guarantee that things will work out as we have “planned,” so we are just taking things one day, or week, at a time.
We have complete trust and faith, though, that Yahweh has a plan, even if we have not been fully informed. Isn’t that just like Him? He surely loves to grow us in our trust of His character one little piece at a time, revealing only enough of the path to allow us to move forward, but not enough to run off ahead of ourselves and stumble in the darkness.
There have been a lot of adjustments for all of us to make. The kids have to practice an even greater amount of patience with one another, since small spaces means we are all in each other’s “circle.” Hubby has only just yesterday finally felt like he has learned all the different knobs, lights, and blinkies in this thing and what they are telling him. And, I am still figuring out how in the world to prepare meals three times a day in a kitchen the size of a closet. =0)
All-in-all, we are in love with this style of living!
There is something so soothing and inviting about the simplicity of it all, and I honestly do not know how we are going to shift out of this once our time in the camper is up, whenever that may be.
For now, though, we shall walk hand-in-hand with our heavenly Abba, as He reveals His plan to us by giving just enough light for the step we are on.
Let’s Talk: What’s your favorite place in your home and why? Me…? So far, I am loving our little bedroom nook! It’s so cozy!

So sorry I missed this comment!!! That is fantastic and very encouraging =0). Where did you park your RV during your time in it? Did you have kiddos with you also? Thanks for commenting.

Found you in a link up at Fellowship Friday! (Christian Mommy Blogger) WELCOME to life on the road!
Hubby and I are on an adventure also, but without our kids. (They’re grown now. ) I’m a graduated homeschooling mom, and hubby and I have talked about how good it is that I didn’t ‘find’ this lifestyle as we were homeschooling, ’cause it would have been irresistible… (I believe The Lord was in charge there. HE knew. LOL)
Perhaps we will meet somewhere along the road… I’d love to chat. In the meantime, I’ve followed you (including Instagram) and am looking forward to hearing about where The Lord leads. Safe travels!

Thanks for commenting! It would always be lovely to meet readers! Connecting with people is SUCH a blessing…which is why comments ROCK! =0). So, you rock for commenting! =0). Lol. I do appreciate it =0). Blessings!

Oh, we are very familiar with Williamsburg! Lots to learn for your kiddos in that area.
We are in Michigan/Indiana right now – deciding where to go next… Around Thanksgiving we will be at the east coast in Raleigh NC to be with our kids. I write at EncourageYourSpouse.com – and document our adventure at RobertandLori.com. Maybe we will find ourselves crossing paths in the next few months.
