Sponsoring Children: What Followers of Christ Can Do
I am excited to share this guest post about World Vision. World Vision provides sponsorship opportunities for impoverished and needy children around the world. Sponsorship is an AMAZING was to show God’s love in tangible ways.
As they say, “When you sponsor a child, you communicate life-changing love and encouragement through letters, photos, packages, and even visits!” What a blessing to those in need.
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.” – Matthew 25:35
Sponsoring children is an amazing blessing and opportunity to serve the needy of this world. Most of us take forgranted the comforts we enjoy every day. Our children eat well, have ample clothing, and receive education as we desire.
Unfortunately, not every child is born into this world with the proper love and care that he or she deserves. In third-world countries and in nations where conflict is rife, it is the children that suffer the most. These children don’t have easy access to food, shelter, clothes, and education without the help of charities that operate globally.
It’s a good thing that these charities are now further expanding their operations through social media channels, as donors and sponsors are helping to fight the battle against child abuse.
Thankfully, ordinary folks that willingly want to help the less fortunate can now extend help to children living in dangerous areas through sponsorships.
You can help!
When Christian families sponsor kids, they are doing what God wants his followers to do. Sponsorship programs are all about feeding children, clothing them, and educating them until they’re old enough to find work for themselves.
What’s good about sponsorships is that those who benefit from them usually don’t forget the kindness of the people who gave them a second chance in life.
What these sponsored children usually do in later life is help other deprived children attain a comfortable life. When you sponsor a child, you are starting a snowball effect that could potentially have a positive outcome on the lives of millions of people.
To know more about sponsorships, visit this site. Usually, sponsorships only require people to pay an everyday fee of less than your usual Starbucks latte. If you find it in your heart to make the world a better place, sponsor a child now.
Who knows? Maybe the lucky child you sponsor will receive a full education and secure their dream job in the future, or become a scientist that one day is able to cure the most devastating of illnesses.
Why not start the ball rolling today, and help someone else live a more comfortable and worry-free life.
