THM Thanksgiving

Food…you gotta love it!  And, if you don’t…I’m so, so sorry for what I am about to do to you.

As Solomon wisely pointed out in Ecclesiastes, there are only so many things over which we have control.  So much of this life is hit or miss on whether or not it will work out.

But, food provides an opportunity to savor and take delight in the palette pleasing of the moment.  To fill the senses to the brim with sight, touch, taste, and smell…maybe even sound if the roasting, chewing, snapping, and cutting of good food makes your mouth water.

Take the day as it is.  Enjoy the moment for what it is.  Choose to be at peace and “eat, drink, and be merry.”

THM Thanksgiving Recipe Collection

Here is a round up of what I consider to be the best THM Recipe posts out there this Thanksgiving season, as well as any tweaks I would make (if any).  And, just in case you were wondering, here is my collection from last year’s Thanksgiving (it was all delicious!!!).  May your day be full and blessing and joy!

Appetizers:

E Meal

Simple Sliced Vegetables and Hummus

Sliced Sweet Potato Chips and Chive Dip (from Behind the Bites) (make sure to choose low fat options for the sour cream and mayonnaise in the dip)

S Meal

Caramel Apple Cream Cheese Spread (from She Wears Many Hats)

w/ Sugar Free Caramel Sauce (from The Lo-Carb Diet)

Main Courses:

E Meal

Turkey – stick with the white meat

Lemon Garlic Baked Salmon (from My Natural Family)

Quinoa Stuffed Acorn Squash (from Vegan Yack Attack)

S Meal

Mayonnaise Roasted Turkey Recipe (from She Wears Many Hats)

Spinach and Cheese Casserole (from iSaveAtoZ)

Side Dishes:

E Meal

Baked Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal (from Bubbly Nature Creations) (I could see this as a side dish, similar to a sweet potato fluff idea)

Crispy Autumn Kale Salad (from How Sweet It Is)

Sugar-Free Sweet Potato Casserole (from Low Carb Diets)  (I would sub stevia as the sugar substitute, and drop the pecans down to ½ cup for a sprinkle, rather than a serious topping.  You could also sub the egg for 3 egg whites)

Autumn Apple Salad (from Your Home Based Mom)

Glazed Baby Carrots (from Mom.me) (sub brown sugar with stevia or xylitol/erythritol)

Millet, Lentil, and Pomegranate Salad (from PopSugar)

Roasted Vegetables (from Damn Delicious)

Pesto Roasted Carrot Fries (from Overtime Cook) (Sub with zucchini for an S meal version)

Sweet Potato Casserole (from Reaching Higher Daily)

Rosemary and Garlic Mashed Cauliflower (from The Cookie Rookie) (reduce butter to 1 tsp and make sure cream cheese is either low-fat or fat free)

S Meal

Spaghetti Squash Au Gratin (Mmmmmm)

Green Bean Casserole (This might be a FP, but it is surely safe for an S meal.  Looks delicious!)

Grain-Free “Cornbread” Casserole (from Buttoni’s Low Carb Recipes)

Cream Portobello and Kale Quinoa Bake (from Amuse Your Bouche)

Best Ever Roasted Asparagus (from Yummy Healthy Easy)

Trim Healthy Stuffing (from the Sisters at Trim Healthy Mama)

Rosemary and Garlic Mashed Cauliflower (from The Cookie Rookie)

Desserts:

E Meal

SF/GF Apple Crisp (from Joy in Our Journey)

Apple Oat Cakes (from New Every Morning)

Cinnamon Sugar Cheesecake Roll-ups (from Jo and Sue)

FP Chocolate Brownies (from Sheri Graham)

FP Pumpkin Pie Cake (from Savvy Homemaking…yours truly)

S Meal

As Good As It Looks Coconut Cream Pie (from Mrs. Criddles Kitchen)

Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake (from  – This looks AMAZING!)

No Carb Cheesecake (from Easy Low Carb Desserts) (sub xylitol/erythritol plus stevia extract for the Splenda)

Beverages:

6 Best Trim Holiday Drinks (from GrassfedMama)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Lol, you’re so welcome! I am very glad it is worth the work, lol. If you find anything that you want me to look for in addition, just let me know and I will add it!

I’m confused by the apple spread being under the S heading??? Wouldn’t you have to eat it on something besides apples to stay in the S mode? What would you be eating it with? Just wondering.

Yes, the apples would either make it a crossover, or they would need to be subbed to stay S. I recommend celery! Still crunchy and sturdy, and would still taste yummy with the cream cheese and caramel =0) Sound good?
